Athletics North Queensland will be running an Athletics Coaching Clinic to help athletes build on their athletic ability.  

The clinic is broken down into 2 based on the age of the athlete. Session One will focus on the 3–9-year group focusing on the strong foundations of coaching following the best practices by World Athletics. Session Two will be for ages 10 and above focusing more on the technical skills of running, jumping and throwing. 

Kate Colahan - Named by Athletics Australia as the "friendliest coach" will be coaching the clinic. Kate's coaching career has spanned over 30 years. Currently the head coach at St Patrick College, the Throws coordinator at St Peters, she has been a coached on the North Qld and Qld team and was part of the new - first of its kind in Australia, Social Athletics program at Tigers Athletics. On an international level, Kate has been the head coach of the Regional Australia Team and has been part of the World Athletics Gender Leadership programs. Kate always has a smile and in very approachable. 

Details: 

Costs: $10 for ANQ athletes. $50 for non-ANQ athletes. Parents of ANQ athletes and registered club and/or financial AA coaches are welcome to attend to observe. There may be time afterwards to share ideas and knowledge with these coaches. 

Venue: Kirwin High School, Ridley Rd, Kirwan QLD 4817 (Ross River Athletics Club Grounds)

Times Session One 3-9yrs: -8:30am- 11:30am Sunday 23 April 

Times Session Two 10 yrs.+:12pm -5pm Sunday 23 April
