Welcome to Ross River Athletics Club!!
Ross River Athletics Club was formed in 1976, initially at Ignatius Park College. We now operate at Kirwan State High School, Ridley Road on Friday nights from 6pm. Over the years, the club has produced many athletes that have had success at state, national and international levels. Some of these athletes have gone onto to represent Australia at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. RRAC is the only Townsville club affiliated with both Athletics North Queensland (ANQ) and Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ). As part of your membership, all athletes will be affiliated with ANQ and LAQ. This offers our athletes from as little as 3 turning 4 through to our master athletes to compete in multiple carnivals in the region through to any Athletics Australia (AA) sanctioned events nation-wide. RRAC pride ourselves on our affordability for the individual and family aswell as honouring our motto – Family, Fun and Fitness. Whether you are looking for a fun new sport to try, making new friends or aiming for the Olympic Games, Ross River Athletics Club has something for you or your child.
We would also just like to take this opportunity to remind you that we do have a Code of Conduct that parents need to be made aware of. It is expected that both athletes and parents/family members treat our volunteers and each other with respect on a Friday night and that everyone adheres to the code of conduct. Back chatting and poor behaviour from athletes (and parents) will result in a warning being given and if the behaviour continues, your child may be asked to sit out at that event.
